Returning to Self & Bringing you up to speed on my happenings…

Whew it’s been a long while since I’ve stepped away from here and all things Earth Star Healing Arts!

What a whirlwind 2020 was with trauma after trauma altering the world both collectively and my own personally. I had to take a step back for my own mental health and to recover my footing, and in the meantime my life as I knew it has dissolved and reformed and then dissolved again to be put back together in a way almost unrecognizable to the person I was before.

Here we are, with 2025 just emerging into existence, and I have been called to climb out of the hole I’ve been hiding in and step back onto my soul’s path.

I won’t lie- the past few years have been a doozy for me. I didn’t feel worthy or have the energy to help others in a way I couldn’t show up for myself. It’s been pure survival mode. Loss. Loss. Recovery. Loss. Birth! More loss. So much profound loss! Deep healing. Restructuring. The ebbs and flows of living in this flesh.

As my focus shifted back to be entirely on my family, some huge pivots have taken place. My family has been blessed by welcoming our beloved daughter in 2023! But even that beautiful gift wasn’t without heartache (a story I may go into another time… or not.) As I transitioned to mothering 3, things no longer serving us had to fall away. I’m no longer homeschooling my sons, which was an identity- or loss-of-ego-crisis I had to navigate through. My “dream” for us and the reality of our day-to-day was no longer aligned. That was a hard pill to swallow and took some time to grieve, process, and recalibrate to a whole new way of life.

As with the cycles of the Earth, my personal life has reflected the composting of what has died to become nourishment for the new. I stepped into a role as the Market Manager for our local farmers market, which I’ve been deeply invested and involved in since its inception nearly 8 years ago.

And most recently, inspired by the tragic murder of a friend and magical member of my mountain community (AND her two wolf-hybrid doggies which just makes it that much more heart wrenching!), I have been called to offer Sound Baths in the hole she left here. (You can read more about Phoenix’s story here. 😭)

As the last person who communicated with her, I feel as though she “passed me the baton” so to speak, and I am honored to be guided by her. She was a remarkable woman who shone her light boldly, and I aspire to do the same. I tend to hide from attention, or shrink back after I’ve been in the spotlight second-guessing myself. But I’m ready to claim my worthiness and heal this “witch wound”. So much goodness is already coming from this heartbreaking tragedy, and it’s one of those enduring traumas that I can tell will be a defining one- my life will never be the same. Nor should it be. Phoenix’s light will keep shining and she will always be remembered. The world is better having had her in it.

So stay tuned for some good things to come, as my intention this winter is to hibernate as much as possible and create space for replenishment, dreaming, and receiving guidance from my helping Spirits as I return to mySelf. ✨

Beginning in February 👇🏼

New Moon in Libra

The New Moon in Libra is on Friday, October 16 at 12:30pm PDT. This happens at 23 degrees in Libra, so look to your birth chart to see how this will personally affect you (you can get one for free at Astro.com or set up a birth chart reading with me).

When the Sun and the Moon are exact in position at a New Moon, the energy invites us to set new intentions. It is a time of new beginnings. This is amplified at this time with the placement of so many planets in their particular position in Cardinal (initiating) Zodiac signs.

Libra is the Cardinal Air sign with the archetype of the scales. It’s energetic imprint is one of balance, harmony, collaboration and relationships. The Moon Mood at this Libra New Moon is one of inspiration! Pay particular attention to any new ideas that come to you, or a sudden shift in perspective, especially if it is recurring.

Aspects:

Sun exact conjunction to Moon in Libra

Sun and Moon in Libra conjunction opposes Mars in Aries

Sun and Moon conjunction in Libra sextile South Node in Sagittarius

Sun and Moon conjunction trine North Node in Gemini

Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn stellium in Capricorn forms T-square to Sun and Moon in Libra and Mars in Aries

Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn stellium in Capricorn trine to Venus in Virgo

Pluto, Jupiter, and Saturn stellium in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces

Neptune in Pisces opposes Venus in Virgo

Uranus in Taurus opposes Mercury (retrograde) in Scorpio

The placement of the planets and where they are located in the zodiac influences how their energies work with or against each other. And as you can tell from the aspects listed above- wow, do we have a lot of potent energies activated at this lunation!

The planets are coming together to support us in initiating ourselves and a new earth for all of us to benefit from participating in!

THIS is it.

The mass extinction, dying out of old ways which creates space necessary for better ones to replace it.

The mass EVOLUTION is happening!

It is happening for us in our inner worlds, and being reflected in our outer world.

Do. Your. Work.

To counter-balance the T-Square difficulty presented by Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter in Capricorn to Mars in Aries and the Moon/Sun in Libra, (read more about these planets’ influence at the last Full Moon in Aries) we can lean into the support of Cancer.

Turn to the nourishment of water: take a hot bath with Epsom Salt and some of your favorite herbs; go to a body of water- river, creek, ocean, lake; weep and cleanse through your tears; pleasure yourself or someone else and release pent up bodily fluids; exercise and work up a nice sweat; listen to the sound of rain or waterfalls as you drift to sleep.

Again, look to your birth chart to see which house 23 degrees in Libra is happening for you, as this is where you can reflect on what needs to change so you can have more balance in this area of your life. This is an ideal time to create a shift, but only if you’re aware and working with the energy!

Affirmations:

“I release control and open to flow.”

“I allow myself to receive abundance and ease.”

“I know who I am and what I am meant to do in this lifetime.”

“I love, forgive, and accept myself and others fully.”

“I honor my word to myself and others.”

“I am aligned with my Highest Self.”

“I create my reality.”

As always, reach out if you are in need of additional support. (Plus, I’m offering 20% off distance healing sessions booked through October, must be redeemed by end of year!) We are, indeed, all in this together.

New Moon Blessings,

Christen

🌕 Full Moon in Aries 🌕

October 2020 will have two Full Moons, the first of the month is at 2:05pm PDT Thursday, October 1st. Look to where it occurs at 9 degrees in Aries on your birth chart to see how it specifically relates to you. You can get a free birth chart at Astro.com or schedule an Astrology reading with me. (I’m offering 20% off discounted sessions through October!!)

Aries, the cardinal fire sign represented by the Ram, embodies warrior, action-oriented energy which can be impatient, yet courageous. Aries shows up fully and unapologetically.

When the Moon, ruler of our emotions, is in Aries we can get caught up charging forward full-steam ahead, which can lead to regrets once the dust has settled. The Sun in Libra is opposite in its cosmic position and energetic imprint. Libra brings patience, harmony, and idealism into the picture while seeking balance. The Moon Mood at this lunation has us in the middle of the push/pull to “slow down to feel it out” and “just act now and figure it out later”. The ritual I have included below will channel both of these energies with purpose.

Aspects:

Moon in Aries opposes Sun in Libra

Moon and Chiron exact in Aries

Neptune in Pisces sextile Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter in Capricorn

Mars in Aries square Saturn, Pluto, Jupiter in Capricorn

Uranus in Taurus opposes Mercury in Scorpio

The placement of the planets and where they are located in the zodiac influences how their energies work with or against each other.

Chiron, the archetype of the “wounded healer”, is exactly conjunct with the Moon at this time. Expect to have your Achilles heel provoked. You know that deep wound that resurfaces again and again? Yep, that’s the one probably associated with Chiron. Ignore that inner critic voice trying to keep you small and replace it with empowering affirmations and self-care:

“I love, forgive, and accept myself fully.”

“I know who I am and what I am meant to do in this lifetime.”

“I am aligned with my Highest Self.”

Pluto, Saturn, and Jupiter remain conjunct in Capricorn, and have been busy airing out the dirty laundry that the Patriarchy has tried to keep hidden. Their relationship highlights where we need to expand and reflect on our own individual responsibilities and how we fit into the current system that has been built on oppression.

Mars in its home sign of Aries forms a square to this stellium which is pushing us forward to DO SOMETHING. It can feel pushy, impulsive, and head-strong (think angry bull).

Neptune in its home sign of Pisces is the epitome of the dreamer, and it’s relation to the stellium in Capricorn will be helpful in softening Mars’ energy. Tune into your dreams and visualizations of what can BECOME once the space has been cleared. Lean into this manifestation energy and use it at this ideal time to raise the vibration needed to create a new Earth by writing, creating art, meditating, and journaling what comes to you in the dreamtime.

What is the most ideal World you can imagine?

What do you hope your descendants and the future children of the Earth will inherit?

This is the time to dream it into being, and harness the forward moving energy to get it started.

Ritual:

To prepare, you will need a quiet place you won’t be interrupted, a writing utensil and paper, candle and matches/lighter, jar.

To begin, center yourself with deep breathing, meditation, or cast a circle of protection (watch my video on Boundaries and Shielding: Prayer for Energy Clearing and Protection).

Invite the energy of this Full Aries Moon and the cosmos to join you.

Light the candle.

Savor the energy and let it immerse you. Marinate in it for a while.

When you feel ready, begin to consider these journaling prompts and write your responses. Just let your ideas flow, don’t worry about how it sounds, if it’s realistic, or grammar.

🌕 The one thing I wish to see changed most about the World in which I live today is…

🌕 One small action that is in my power to do this month is…

🌕 I would/could do more but…

🌕 An option around that/those obstacles is to…

🌕 Taking action in this way will make me feel…

Break things down into tangible steps. By the end of this practice, my hope is that you are feeling inspired, motivated, and capable to stand in your power to make a difference in a meaningful way. I also hope that you have clarity on perceived obstacles.

Take a small piece of paper (tear from the larger) and write down the answers that you wrote to the prompt “I would/could do more but…” As you imagine the obstacles dissolving, take the paper and light it on fire with the candle, then drop it into the jar to burn. Hold the intention to release these blocks and use that energy to clear the path to benefit the Highest Good of All.

Let the fire in the jar burn out, thank the energies and helping Spirits for joining you, and blow out the candle.

Put the rest of your written answers under your pillow as you sleep with the intention of opening up to new ideas to bring your vision into reality.

Take action in the way that was revealed to you during this ritual and trust your inner guidance.

I would love to hear from you, let me know how this goes by commenting below or messaging me!

Full Moon Blessings,

Christen
